TRIP ITINERARY TO PARIS AND THE ALPS

                                                     Day 1-2
Transatlantic flight to Paris. A bilingual representative will greet you at the airport for a transfer to your hotel and a guided tour of the city. Enjoy an evening walking tour through a Parisian Quarter. Dinner in the Latin Quarter.  D

                                                   Day 3
This morning, your guide will pick you up at your hotel for you guided tour of the Louvre Museum with its "Venus", "Winged Victory", and Da Vinci's "Mona Lisa". Exit through I.M. Pei's glass pyramid to the Place de la Concorde. Walk up the Champs Elysee to the Arc de Triomphe. If time permits, visit the small museum and get a view of Paris from the top of the Arc. Dinner on your own and then a Bateaux Mouches ride on the Seine River.  B

                                                    Day 4
Your guide will pick you up at your hotel for a guided tour of the Impressionist d'Orsay Museum. Visit the Eiffel Tower and climb, or maybe take the elevator, to the top. This afternoon is free to stroll through Paris. You may choose to visit the Picasso or Rodin Museums. In the evening, enjoy dinner in the young and trendy Les Halles Quarter.  B/D

                                                    Day 5
After breakfast, your guide will pick you up for your day excursion to Giverny. Explore the garden of Monet at Giverny and enjoy a guided tour. Then, go to Versailles Chateau, home of Louis XIV, the "Sun King", for a tour. Visit the artistic Montmartre area to see the Sacre Coeur Basilica and enjoy dinner. Transfer to the train station for the night train to the town of St.-Gervais.  B/D

                                                                                                         

 

Day 6
Arrive in the French Alps. You will be greeted at the station for a transfer to the hotel, and may relax after your night in the "couchettes". This afternoon, hike into the Alps with your guide, return to Chamonix for a traditional mountain dinner of cheese fondue or raclette. B/D

                    

                                                       Day 7
Today, your guide will pick you up at your hotel and take you on a tram to the top of the "Aiguille du Midi" to see the highest peak in Europe, the Mont Blanc. Enjoy this breathtaking view of the French, Italian, and Swiss Alps. Return to Chamonix for an afternoon on your own and dinner.  B/D

                                                    Day 8
 After breakfast, meet your guide for a scenic train ride to the famous Sea of Ice. Depending on weather conditions, you may be able to hike up and back. Picnic lunch on the mountain and dinner on your own in Chamonix.  B

                                                    Day 9
Transfer to the station for your T.G.V. train from Chamberry to Paris. Greeted on your arrival for a transfer to the hotel. Afternoon walking tour of Notre Dame, Ile St. Louis, and Ile de la City. Enjoy dinner this evening.  B/D

                                              Day 10
Your escort will meet you at the hotel for a transfer to the airport for you transatlantic flight home.  B
